Do you have a Facebook Business Page?

Your page automatically converted on March 30th.  Are you taking advantage of the great new features?

The new Timeline design automatically converted on March 30th, and I wanted to highlight some important features you need to know to ensure you are taking advantage of the great facebook pages to promote your services, products and message.

One of the biggest feature changes is the removal of a default landing tab. That is, where you can create a custom landing page to encourage non fans to like your page.

The good news is you can still have custom tabs, you just can’t set a default landing tab. Each of your apps still will have its own unique URL so that means you can still drive traffic to your landing page.

With the new Timeline design, you’ll notice the generously large cover image at the top of your page. This is prime real estate that is always visible to fans and non-fans as they land on your page.  Note: The dimensions are 851 pixels wide by 315 pixels high. Great place to showcase  high-quality photographs and graphics pertaining to your brand/business. I love the new cover image and there are tons of possibilities for you to promote your services, products and message.

Here are some examples of great cover images for marketing your business:

Show Your Target Market/Ideal Client

Highlight a special feature of your product or service

Highlight an upcoming event (no promotion, just highlight)

Create Curiosity

Tabs are not Apps

Just below your new cover image are your new apps, and since the app has a unique URL you can drive traffic from inside or outside Facebook to any landing page you wish…very cool!  You can have a max of 12 apps including your photos, likes etc. All other apps are third party apps and you can customize these apps…so GET CREATIVE!  Use these apps for branding your products and services, calls to actions and specials.
